My city

In a day's work, you get up at eight o'clock and you go to work by bus or car (yours or of yours friend). Then, at ten o'clock you usually have breakfast in the bar: coffee and sandwich or chocolate with Spanish sweet fritters. You sometimes take your time for that.
On lunch time, you come back home. After you have lunch, you sometimes have a nap. At evening, it is usual take a coffee or drink on a terrace and go for a walk because the weather is normally nice.
You can choose beetwen a lot of activities during the weekend: there is cultural events like cinemas or theatres and, recently, museums (like museum Picasso or Thyssen) ; you can go to the restaurants (there is a big variety of food, included the Málaga's food). And, of course, you can go to the beach.
Málaga is not so big as Madrid, but it is not so small as Jaén. It is a big city, but it is not an stressful city. You can see a funny city center here with a lot of establishments and you can go walking to all places around. Nothing seems far away. There is not high-rise and wide avenues, some buildings are remodeled and others are new. There is a good bar everywhere to sit and talk for a long time. It has built a shopping centre recently in the port of Málaga, it is called 'Muelle Uno'.
That is not possible in Madrid or Jaén because they have not sea. Sea is the guest star of Málaga, there is about 150 km of beaches along from east to west. You can see nice beaches like La Carihuela Beach (Torremolinos), Burriana Beach (Nerja) or Rio Verde (Marbella).
Málaga's people have a nice personality. They are very amusing and they like joking (in others cities, like Barcelona or Bilbao, people are more serious than Málaga's people). It is normal here to make new friends because people is very extroverted.
On the other hand, Málaga's people speak Spanish a bit different than people of Valladolid or Madrid. Málaga's people are relaxed to pronounce Spanish language, they usually forget the last 'd' in the word or the 'j' in any position. Castilla's people, the city of Valladolid in particular, speak Spanish almost perfectly.

Málaga has experimented a big transformation, from an old nineteenth century city to the present-day city. The changes have been about the physical and the living conditions. About the physical, now you can walk without pollution all around and enjoy green areas. The buildings are beautiful and very modern. There are a lot of new buildings. Málaga looks great now. On contrary, in the past, there wasn't green areas and the buildings were older than now. On the other hand, about the living conditions, the town hall of Málaga has paid close attention to leisure, transport and employment. You can enjoy shopping malls and other leisure facilities at present. In the same way, you can use new transpor links like underground railway or new and improved roads.

Sweet Wine of Málaga

Sweet wine of Málaga is a very famous wine around the world and since a lot of time ago, is one of the oldest in Europe. It is named in the novel <<The Count of Monte Cristo>>. There are three varieties: sweet natural wine, master wine and tender wine First, grapes are harvested on August every year. It is very important pick the grapes at the right time. This grape harvest is done manually, and is only done in Málaga in this way. It is called 'Dry Farmed'. Then, the grapes are pressed. The process is craftsman and careful. Along a month, all people of the wine cellar must work a lot. Now, we have an excellent grape-juice that is fermented for specific time. Finally, wine is bottled and is sent to wine shops, restaurants or, more tipically, taverns. I advise a tavern in the 'Pasaje Chinita' in center of Málaga that is called 'Rincón de Chinitas'. You must drink a cup of 'dorado', sweet wine, and some of typical fish.
