Sweet Wine of Málaga
Sweet
wine of Málaga is a very famous wine around the world and since a
lot of time ago, is one of the oldest in Europe. It is named in the
novel <<The Count of Monte
Cristo>>.
There
are three varieties: sweet natural wine, master wine and tender wine
First,
grapes are harvested on August every year. It is very important pick
the grapes at the right time. This grape harvest is done manually,
and is only done in Málaga in this way. It is called 'Dry Farmed'.
Then,
the grapes are pressed. The process is craftsman and careful. Along a
month, all people of the wine cellar must work a lot. Now, we have an
excellent grape-juice that is fermented for specific time.
Finally,
wine is bottled and is sent to wine shops, restaurants or, more
tipically, taverns.
I
advise a tavern in the 'Pasaje Chinita' in center of Málaga that is
called 'Rincón de Chinitas'. You must drink a cup of 'dorado',
sweet wine, and some of typical fish.
